For over 20 years Peter has delivered complex, strategic transformation programmes.

Having begun his career supporting the digitisation of Health and Care organisations at local and national level within the NHS, Peter has worked with a wide range of organisations in the public, private and third sectors. Peter’s delivery and leadership responsibilities have spanned the United Kingdom, United States, Scandinavia, and the Middle East; in roles that have included Subject Matter Expert, Project Manager, Programme Manager, Portfolio Director, Principal Consultant, Strategy Director and Company Director.

Over the same period, Peter has held leadership and governance roles in several local, national, and international charities, and a large Academy, and is a Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside.

Peter is driven by taking on impactful engagements which set out to make a real difference to the lives of citizens, and services which support them and uses relevant methodologies and approaches which include PRINCE2, MSP and Better Business Cases.

Peter’s experience is broad; however, his current priority is focusing on the significant opportunity that exists to transform how Health and Care services support citizen wellbeing, through the delivery of high quality and cost-effective new models of care, and the role of digital in enabling this transformation.

Key areas of expertise:

  • Strategist with proven UK and international experience of policy development, market analysis, strategy definition, strategy to action planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deep and full lifecycle experience of complex solution delivery, from business case development and requirements analysis; to implementation, optimisation, and service delivery.
  • Specialist knowledge and deep hands-on experience of electronic patient record solution and service specification, procurement, and implementation – including in leadership, assurance and advisory capacities.
  • Specialist in large-scale programme and project execution, the establishment of programme management offices and the turnaround of underperforming programmes.
  • Specialist in clinical engagement, current state workflow mapping, future state workflow mapping, and the definition and delivery of change journeys.
  • Specialist in enterprise solution design, build and test; including critical processes such as release and configuration management.
  • Experienced delivery leader and strategic advisor having successfully worked with organisations ranging from SMEs to NHS Trusts and Arm Length Bodies, the Ministry of Defence and global corporations.
  • Past elected industry representative on the techUK Health and Social Care Council.
